Director of Education

 

Compared to the geographic “Division Director” roles, this position is geared more towards consultation. The division directors are tasked with broad outreach duties to their respective territories — while the Director of Education is more so a “thinking/planning/doing” role where you will interact MOSTLY with your colleagues on the Board (versus residency programs). As with all new things, evolving duties are expected. That said, initially in addition to your DIRECTOR-SPECIFIC duties, you will be responsible for discussing approaches with our Director of Marketing, pitching ideas to your colleagues on the board of directors, contributing to a positive culture, and further recruiting residents at YOUR program to join and/or participate in authorship of CEMRO educational materials/books/publications.

Some other duties include (specific to the Director of Education):

  • Represent the spirit and ideals of CEMRO.
  • You are a full voting member of the Board that formulates policies directly affecting the academic services CEMRO offers EM residents in California.
  • The Director participates at varying capacities in all Board of Directors meetings.
  • Help to coordinate and design the development tracks in addition to assist planning educational books and other CEMRO offerings.
  • Make regular contributions yourself to CEMRO publications.
  • Plan and brainstorm ways in which medical students can be brought on board and implemented into CEMRO from the scope of improved education and outreach.

 

Director of Wellness

 

Compared to the geographic “Division Director” roles, this position emphasizes a consultant orientation. By this it means, the division directors are tasked with broad outreach duties to their respective territories — while the Director of Wellness is more so a “thinking/planning/doing” role where you will interact MOSTLY with your colleagues on the Board and residents via CEMRO (versus residency programs and residents directly). As with all new things, evolving duties are expected. That said, initially in addition to your DIRECTOR-SPECIFIC duties, you will be responsible for discussing approaches with our Director of Marketing, pitching ideas to your colleagues on the board of directors, contributing to a positive culture, and further recruiting residents at YOUR program to join and/or participate in authorship of CEMRO educational materials/books/publications. The overall goal is to add a high level of satisfaction and self-care among EM residents.

Some other duties include (specific to the Director of Wellness):

  • Represent the spirit and ideals of CEMRO.
  • Assist the Board of Directors in designing, planning, and implementing wellness approaches.
  • You are a full voting member of the Board that formulates policies directly affecting the wellness services CEMRO offers EM residents in California.
  • Design, create, and implement an original instrument on EM resident wellness.
  • The Director participates at varying capacities in all Board of Directors meetings.
  • Involvment with unrolling of The anonEMous Network in 2018.
  • Design, gather, and create a CEMRO resource library regarding wellness materials.
  • Make regular contributions yourself to CEMRO publications.
  • Plan and brainstorm ways in which medical students can be brought on board and implemented into CEMRO from the scope of continued wellness in residency.

 

Northern California Medical School Representative

 

CEMRO is seeking an ambitious and outgoing medical student from a northern California medical school to take on the role of  our Northern California Medical School Representative. The position is perfect for the EM-bound medical student that has a passion for managing projects and leading peers. Work directly with CEMRO’s Board of Directors while strengthening your ties to both California residents and residency programs.

Southern California Medical School Representative

CEMRO is seeking an ambitious and outgoing medical student from a southern California medical school to take on the role of  our Southern California Medical School Representative. The position is perfect for the EM-bound medical student that has a passion for managing projects and leading peers. Work directly with CEMRO’s Board of Directors while strengthening your ties to both California residents and residency programs.
