Dr. Whitney Johnson

Executive Secretary

Whitney Johnson, MD, MS is currently a resident at the University of California, San Francisco-Fresno Emergency Medicine Program (UCSF-Fresno). She received her medical degree from Georgetown University School of Medicine and obtained an undergraduate degree in Human Biology with an emphasis in health care and social issues from the University of California, San Diego. This was followed by a Master’s of Science degree in Clinical Nutrition.

She chose Emergency Medicine because of the acuity, the unpredictability, and her belief that it is the all-encompassing specialty — “anyone, any place, any time.” Being a resident at UCSF-Fresno is an especially meaningful and humbling experience to her because she enjoys being amidst a community of physicians with diverse medical interests, dynamic skills, and strong work ethic, as well as having the opportunity to work with an underserved and equally diverse patient population of the Central Valley.

Prior to medical school, Whitney established leadership skills as a lifelong athlete, including being an NCAA collegiate student-athlete and captain of a 5-time championship Track & Field team. She expanded her interests in emergency medicine working as a chief scribe and then general manager of a scribe program in Northern San Diego.

Her interests within EM are incredibly diverse including, but not limited to, sports medicine, ultrasound, and trauma research. Whitney’s goal is to make a lasting contribution to the EM community by strengthening worthwhile organizations such as CEMRO. She is excited about the mentorship and support that this group has to offer our California EM residents.
