Value Flows

Value Flows

The Secret to Satisfaction

Imagine an existence where you only have one route to satisfaction. Only one aspect of your life you find true enjoyment. A single means to feeling fulfilled. That existence is a recipe for tragedy. As humans, we are multi-dimensional beings. We have relationships, hobbies, experiences. It goes without saying that the more routes you have to satisfaction, the more chances you have to end up at the right destination even if one path becomes blocked.

A series of tributaries paints an aquatic portrait of how value flows can function. If one of the paths becomes blocked, there are numerous other routes that can compensate to maintain a satisfactory flow.

Similarly, a tree is more successful, more likely to survive, more likely to thrive if it has a multitude of wide-reaching arms, branches, and twigs that bear leaves. If a large storm breaks a branch off the tree, it is less consequential than if that tree puts all its value – its lifeline – in a single branch.

Perhaps the best analogy is the vascular network. Collateral networks help compensate for blockages. They help keep the flow. They help keep us alive.

In residency, if we find ourselves with only a couple, or even worse – one, major route to satisfaction, we are walking a dangerously thin line. By branching out to new hobbies, developing new interests, forming new relationships, we diversify our value flows. We build a collateral circulation for our personal satisfaction.

With this theory, CEMRO has designed and developed numerous means to increase and maintain resident value flows. Whether you like to write, want to develop a new skill, or meet new people. CEMRO has your best interests at heart.
